Chewing is a very common sensory need and can help some children and adults focus on activities or to keep calm in certain situations. While some mouth or suck on objects, others like to bite and chew. This can be a potential problem if an individual chews on something hazardous or unhygienic. Sucking and biting on fingers and hands can cause sores and infections over time, so finding safer options to meet oral sensory needs is important.

Why Choose a Sensory Corner chew?

We have selected quality sensory chews in our range, to meet a wide variety of preferences and needs. We know that the vast range of chews can be overwhelming for choice, especially for those who have never used our sensory chew toys or chewy necklaces before.

Sensory Corner Chew firmness Rating

Each brand of chew has it's own way of describing its 'performance' in terms of its 'chewability' or 'firmness'. In order to help with selecting the right chew, we have developed the Sensory Corner Firmness Rating. We have compared each of the chews in our range and have rated them depending on their firmness or 'toughness' compared with others we supply. We hope that standardising the firmness comparison across our range, will help with making it easier for you to compare and contrast the different choices. However, if you are still confused about what to choose, feel free to contact us for advice, and we'll do our best to help you make a suitable selection. We understand that it can be a stressful time when looking for sensory equipment to manage behaviour, so we're here to help.
